QUESTION: what kind of specialist can remove it and also will I need to go to sleep?  if they have go through my throat while i am awake will they numb my throat so i wont gag and if they do what do they use to numb me

Answer
I can't tell what it would take without a picture, but probably can be removed in the office under local anesthetic.... an aggressive family doctor can do it ( I do them ) or an ENT should be able to do it in the office.... numb the throat, some novacaine locally, then open it up.   Usually they use a spray to numb the throat then novacaine to numb the skin.
