QuestionA weeks ago my wife had a seizure. I had always heard that you should put something in their mouths to keep them from suffocating on their tongue, so I put my middle finger in there. Dumb move. (I panicked.) Of course she bit my finger very hard, and ever since I have have no feeling in my fingertip even though there is no pain. Will feeling ever return to my fingertip? If so, how long until feeling returns? I play piano professionally, so being able to feel the tips of my fingers is quite important.
My wife is fine by the way. ER doctor said that it was a combination of medication and direct sunlight that caused her seizure and that she will not likely have another after a medication change.
Answerthere was damage to the nerves on each side of your finger.... if the nerves were completely cut, then the feeling might not come back... if they were only mildly damaged, the nerves can come back, usually at a rate of about 1 mm per month, so may take several months.....
