Intermenstrual Bleeding & Lower Abdominal Pain: Possible Causes & What to Do

Question
I have been having spotting that is quite like period menstruation in between periods. I have lower abdominal pain & it escalates to my lower back as well. It is heavy bleeding, that seems to never ease. I am on birth control 7 have not missed any pills, or hurt my self in that region, I am afraid it may be quite serious. I am worried, maybe cervical cancer, What do you think it is?

Answer
I doubt cervical cancer a lot..... that does not cause pain.

I would look at easy things first.... a urinary tract infection.  If you are at any risk, a check for sexually transmitted diseases, like chlamydia/gonorrhea.

The weird bleeding could just be because of low dose birth control pills.

Get it checked... a urine sample, maybe a cervix culture so you won't have to worry.
