Understanding Your Ultrasound Results: Subchorionic Hemorrhage Explained
QuestionI had an ultrasound and these were its findings:
OB ultrasound.Intrauterine pregnancy estimated gestational age 6 weeks two days.Heart rate 122 beats per minute. (Hypoechoic area adjacent to the gestational sac consistent with subchorionic hemorrhage.}
and i dont know what the part i put paretheses around means. Can you Help me by telling me what it means in a way i will understand? Thankyou
AnswerLauren,
That indicates that there might be some bleeding behind the gestational sac. Sometimes this can happen. It is definately something to keep a close eye on, but it doesn't necessarily indicate that you will have a problem holding the pregnancy. Sometimes the blood just resolves itself. Just take it easy and make sure your doctor runs some bloodwork including progesterone if he already hasn't done that. Good luck. Let me know if I can answer anything else for you!
