QuestionI am 21 and for the past year I have felt very bad. I went to my Dr. and told her all my symptoms:
-lethargy
-migraines (which I have had all my life)
-large bumps/sores on my toes which turn blue/purple in the shower and itch (I have had these for a month, my Dr. gave me a corticosteroid cream because she believed it to be contact dermatitis. However after using the cream for 3 weeks they have yet to disappear.)
-a tightness feeling in my abdomen (to the left and under my bellybutton)
-a strong abdominal pulse
-breathing problem (unable to take a full breath, shallow breathing)
- lightheaded/dizzy/trouble seeing every time I stand up
After an EKG and a spirometry test, which yielded normal results, she determined that I have anxiety. However, I have no more stress now in my life than I did 1 year ago when I felt fine.
My question is, How can I determine if these symptoms are anxiety related or something else since they are very diverse. Further, if it is anxiety why would these symptoms arise at relatively the same time? Any help is appreciated, what should my next step be?
AnswerI would wonder about arteritis nodosum with the toe lesions, although I can't see them.
I assume you had basic tests.... thyroid, regular blood count and those were OK.
If those come out normal, then I would consider could depression and/or anxiety play a role in these symptoms.
I hope this helps.
