Herniated Disc Surgery Recovery: A Patient's Experience

Question
I would like to describe an injury and surgery I had for a better visual and understanding of my questions. A year and 10 months ago I had surgery for a herniated disc. The problem existed for nearly a year and much damaged occurred the affected area on my lower back.  I believe the second or possibly third disc up from the bottom. The surgery was a complete success with the herniation being cut out and the hole on the disc being found and patched. Rehabilitation on my part has been taken very serious. Positives are that I now have as much if not more strength to the lower back, no pain even remotely similar to the pain before the surgery and full range of motion. The negatives still affecting me today include a completely numb area ranging from under, but not to include, the genitalia over to the left buttock and down the back of the thigh, three quarters of the way down near the back of the knee. Will I ever get back feeling to the numbed areas? What is the cause of the numbness?  My left calf has significantly less strength than the right and does not seem to be closing the gap regardless what strengthening technique I try. Any advice references this? What are some rehabilitating techniques you may recommend that I possibly am not doing besides the normally used techniques? Thank you for any information and advice you can help me with. I am very motivated to fix this issue and appreciate your service.

Answer
Will I ever get back feeling to the numbed areas?
A: not in most people unless they replace their nutrient deficiencis and remove toxicities in their diet which requires an onsite exam and lab testing to know the extent of these.

What is the cause of the numbness?
A: Felt by most neurologists to be the result of root pressure and damage before surgery and by nutrigenomists to be from non healing due to lack of nutrients and toxicities from diet and soft. city and bottled water being empty of needed minerals

Any advice references this?
A: depends on the above items being addressed

What are some rehabilitating techniques you may recommend that I possibly am not doing besides the normally used techniques?
A: None effective until these addressed

Note: no futher advice possible on this venue since need examination, education, and correction only possible in person and with extensive lab testing
