Unexpected Bleeding While on Mircette: Causes & What to Do

Hello. I just got my period again! I got it two weeks ago, as expected. I am on the pill (Mircette) and this has never happened before. What can this be?

Sometimes you can have some bleeding in the middle of the month ("mittelshmerz"). This bleeding does not last as long as a regular period and it is not significant or dangerous. Sometimes the Mircette is not strong enough to prevent breakthrough bleeding and you may need a stronger pill. If this occurs next month, discuss with your gynecologist the possibility of getting a different birth control pill.
