Laptop Safety & Pregnancy: Understanding Wireless Radiation Risks

Question
I read the WHO report today about cell phones - I try to use mine infrequently and I do not have a smart phone only a flip phone.  But it made me wonder about my laptop computer - I am a freelancer so I am on my computer off and on the ENTIRE day and night.  Could that increase my cancer risk?  Also I am preggers 3rd trimester and I do not ever put the PC on my skin but sometimes I do lay down (backpain) and put a pillow underneath it (the laptop) and place it on my chest (I'm laying down flat on my back and but it never touches my body).

Could that harm the baby or give either of us cancer?

I've never thought about these things?? What about a cordless phone?  I let my 4  year old and occassionally my 2 year old talk to their nana on the phone -  it's never very long but please help!

Answer
There is a theory that cellphones to the ear can give enough radiation to the brain over a period of many years to increase risk of cancer.... that is not proven by any means.  Using a blue tooth earpiece or speaker/hands free function when you can is a reasonable precaution.

There is no evidence that laptops cause any problems.  Regular cordless phones don't count in the above.

I would not worry about the kids and occ cell use either.

I hope this helps.....
