i am adoctor graduated from sudan ,and would like to do my speciality in emergency medicine ,i want to know where can i get asufficient training or residency program ,and what do i have to prepare in all for that ,am staying in uae at the moment and if any ideas about south africa or canada ,about the shortest way to start please need ur advice .
AnswerI don't have any knowledge of training tracks outside of the United States. There are standard 4 year residency programs in the US for ECFMG's (foreign medical graduates that have been licensed in the US). Often, many medical school graduates can also do a residency in Family Medicine (3 years) and work in an urgent care/emergency room setting in smaller hospitals. In South Carolina, the majority of emergency room physicians are not emergency residency program trained, but family practice or internal medicine trained.
