Blood Storage After Death: Viability and Use Cases

Question
My question is, if someone dies from some non disease related situation(such as getting hit by a car)how long after they die is their blood good for? I can imagine that within a short amount of time the body would probably release some kind of toxin or the blood cells would start to die, etc.. so at that point it would no longer be any good. However if doctors were to take some of someones blood immediately after death and treated/stored it exactly as donated blood could it still be used for someone? If so what kind of time frame would they have to harvest it? Do they not remove organs up to a few hours after death? I would think that if it is possible the red cross would be pushing for it same as organ donors are looked for. Yet I have never heard anything about it. Is it possible and if so is it done?
Thanks

Answer
The blood would be good for hours, but there are a few problems... contamination during trauma with cuts, broken bones, rupturing of organs, plus when someone has died, there heart it not pumping and it is tehcnically difficult to get the blood out of the blood vessels efficiently..... goot thought though.....
