Lightheadedness & Dizziness After Pacemaker Implantation: What to Do?
QuestionI had a pace maker put in around a year ago.To increase heart beat. When this happens i have to sit down.I saw the cardiologist who performed the operation a week ago,and he raised the heart beat to 70 from 60.My doctor gave me pro air if i do anything stressful.I have a hard time vaccuming i have to take breaks to finish.I quit smoking 7 years ago and i was a heavy smoker, but i never had the dizzy feeling or lightheadedness.I could do more than.Any advice will be appreciated. My age is 74.
Thanks in advance,
Edward
AnswerThere is a lot more than simply the heart rate that allows you to perform exercise without having to take a break..... I would keep working with the cardiologist.... I would want to know how well the heart beats, ie what your ejection fraction is as well as your medicines.... this may be related to a medicine side effect as easily as a primary heart problem.
