Thyroid Enlargement (Thyromegaly): Symptoms, Ultrasound Results & Next Steps

Question
I'm 30 yo and about 5 months ago when I would turn my head it felt like there was pressure on my neck. It also felt like there was something always in my throat. After about a month or 2 the throat lump went away. And now the one side of my throat is swollen. I went to the doctors about 2 weeks ago and they gave me an u/s of my thyroid. Right 5.60 x 1.41 x 1.90cm  Left 5.1 x 1.58 x 2.16 and it says I have Thyromegaly. I had some blood work done and it was normal. They sent me to a specialist and he said it felt normal and I don't have any other symptoms other then the one side of my neck being swollen and when I turn my head the side of my neck is tighter then the other side. He did more blood work and it came back normal. Is it normal for your thyroid to be swollen? Thank you if you need any other info I'll answer anything you want.

Answer
it can swell up from infection, but usually will go back down... the fact that the tests are normal is reassuring..... Did they do thyroid antibodies with "the blood work"?   anti-thyroid/anti-microsomal antibodies?  That would be the one thing to check...... but shouldn't be any big worries.... I hope this helps.
