Lipotropic Injections & Potential Side Effects: A Concerned Patient's Experience

Question
My family physician recently suggested I begin B12/B6 lipotropic injections in addition to a healthy diet to aid in weight loss. I believe the amino acids in the shot are choline, methionine, & inositol. I take Escitalopram and Lamotrigine for depression & anxiety.

I felt fine the day after the first injection, but as the days go on I'm feeling uneasy. Anxiety, nausea, headache, not sleeping well, keyed up, yet fatigued.  Is this likely a drug reaction or side effects of something in the injection? Being that I already suffer from anxiety, this has me extremely worried.

I called the physician's office and they said typically people do not experience this sort of problem. I'm wondering if these effects will subside soon as the injection wears off? Are there any major interactions I should be aware of? Thanks for your time.

Answer
I don't think those chemicals should cause much of a reaction, unfortunately, they don't cause much of a benefit in weight loss either......  Unless you are deficient in B12 or have a horrible diet (for B6) then it is questionable whether these are helpful.   I would expect the symptoms will fade shortly.
