Pelvic Pain After TTC: Causes, Relief & What to Do

Question
Hi, I have currently been ttc with my husband for 2 years now.  Reacently I have been having severe pelvic pain.  Its like both sides are just soo tight I can't sit or stand for a long time without pain. At first the doctors thought it had to do with my colon, and that turned up nothing, and then they thought it was physical.  I went to physical therapy for 3 months and the pain went away.  Now my period is back and the pain is back.  With the pain I have had problems going to the bathroom, I am currently on my 5th day with a heavy flow and major cramps.  I must say that I am very irregular and this is only my 3rd period of the year.  Everything I read seems to lead me to Endo, but I am not sure.  Looking back I realized that the pain first started after a day of spotting and continued until my period in June.  The pain decreased in Aug, but is now back full force.  Does this sound like endo?
Thanks
Jessica

Answer
Hi Jessica,
Well, you do sound endo-like as far as the symptoms. The abnormal periods sporadic bleeding are definitley signs of endo. Also, the heavy bleeding could attributed to fibroids. I also had those same symptoms and had to have them removed, and tested, and they were fine.
The only way to truly explore the possibility of endo is to have a laparoscopy done by a doctor. This procedure explores all areas and can tell whether endo is present, fibroids, cysts, anything.
The spotting is also reminiscent of endo. I also spot during ovulation. And I sometimes have a period that lasts 14-16 days. All of which is endo like. One thing that endo is...is so very inconsistent. And it can make other areas of your body off kilter as well.
An endo group that I belong do, has been discussing the new research on endo, and it now seems that endo can invade other areas of your body...like the lungs for instance. So there is really no limit or set symptom that a woman experiences.
I would seek out a specialist gyno, one that is well versed in endo/fertility, which go hand in hand. Have the lap done to see what is going on!
Let me know if you get a chance. Best of luck to you and take care of yourself!
