QuestionI had a hystorectomy due to endometriosis when I was 25. They removed everything but my left ovary. The doctor said that it didnt look like a good ovary but that he thought that it would be better left in for as long as possible. My question is what are possible effects for having just one ovary, besides the perfect outcome of the one left taking over with no problems. I have had many symptoms of low estrogen or something since about 3 yrs after my surgery. Here are a few: rapid pulse, fatigue that worsens during the day, hot flashes, mood swings, excess perspiration, low sex drive, depression, panic attacks, poor memory, insomnia, headaches, dry skin, and a vaginal bactrial infection. I also drink a lot of green tea and I've read that high intake of green tea has been associated with lowered levels of serum estradiol concentration. If you could give me any information that would be very helpful.
AnswerShalena,
I have not had a hyst so I really can not help you with this question. There is another woman...Martha...who is also an expert in this catagory. I believe she has had a Hyst and would be better suited to answer this question.
There is also a website www.hystersisters.com that is very good. It's a site where women post and answer questions about a hyst. Many women there have had a hyst due to Endo also. That could be a great tool for you. Check them out.
Sorry I could not be of any more help. I hope Martha and the site can help you out.
Sincerely.
Angir
