QuestionHi, I have a question....Sometimes, NOT every month (so far 4 episodes in a
year) when I get extremely painful gas on the 2nd-3rd days of my period. My
gyn says I have cysts that are either hemorragic or possible endometrioma.
My question is if I had endometriosis would the pain happen montly. I had
great periods in July, Aug, Sept, Oct and a bad one in Nov. Im a bit confused.
The only symptom that I have would also suggest endo is I have painful bowel
movements day 2 of my periods and have always had that, but I also have a
tipped uterus and have been told that when Im on my period my uterus
swells, so when I have a bm it scrapes the uterus because it is tipped. I
I would love to know if you can have a bad period once in a while with endo,
or is it more consistent . What can cause the bad gas pains I feel sometimes
when I have my period? Thanks for any advice
Kell
AnswerHi Kelly
The funny thing about endo...is that it is very unpredictable. I too, have a tipped uterus, and that would also give me painful Bowel movements as well as lower back pain. I am assuming you are young, because the first couple of years, before I was diagnosed with endo, I started out with the occasional uncomfortable period. Before long, it became apparent that something was very wrong as I was in pain constantly throughout every month.
I have spoken with alot of women who also experience painful BM and diarrhea during their periods...
Have you had a laparoscopy done yet? This is a minor exploratory surgery that can look into your abdomen and see everything going on. Its a great tool.
I'd have a talk with your gyno about the possibility of endo and if it is endo...the faster you catch it-the faster you can treat it.
Best of luck to you...be healthy and Merry Christmas!
