2cm Dilated & Mucus Plug Loss: What to Expect in Pregnancy

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and at my last visit to the doctor, I was 2 cm dilated and then over the weekend I lost my mucous plug. How long before I deliver or go into labor? The anticipation is killing me!!

It is definitely exciting to be so close to being able to touch and hold your baby. =)  However, you may still have a while to go. It definitely sounds like your body is preparing itself for childbirth. The loss of your mucous plug isn't necessarily an indicator that labor is imminent but it does mean that your body is getting ready for it.
There isn't any way I can tell you when you'll go into labor though I would guess (and this is JUST a guess) you may have at least a week more to go. I recommend you relax and try to enjoy the last weeks of your pregnancy. I know that can be hard to do because you're eager to meet your new baby. Your body knows what to do and your baby will make its grand exit when the time is right. =)
