Giving Birth in Canada: A Guide for Non-Citizens

Dear Helen,
A firend of mine has given birth in U.S.A so I wonder what is the procedure of given birth in CANADA? Is there any company? person? planning such kind of organization for who is not CA citizen but give birth in CANADA.If yes, how can I contact with them and what is the approx. cost?

If you are not a Canadian or US citizen, you will need to contact the embassy member of your home country. You may need to get a passport and/or visa in advance before your baby is born. It honestly depends on the country where you live currently because that is where your citizenship is held.

As for techniques and the like, it is very similar to the United States. However, Canada does have nationalized health care so you would need to decide where in Canada you wish to go and contact the hospital, midwife, or birthing center in that area for specific prices for non-citizens.
