QuestionMy mom had a Modified Radical Masectomy (MRM) done on August 26, 2004. As usual there was a fluid collection drain which was put in; however till date there is about 150cc which is collected every 2 days. My question is "Is that normal?" "Does it have any implication on the patient?" "What's the way to reduce this collection?"
AnswerDear Mathew, If you or your mom have not called the doctor yet to tell him/her of this draining, then I suggest that you do so....
There is NOT a normal in things like this, but most MRM patients recover totally from this surgery (including drainage) in 3-4 weeks and she is now into her 4 week, so maybe the doctor needs to check things out again...
