QuestionI'm 24 years old. I'm not sure what it is but I do feel something hard in my right breast. Sometimes it can feel ticklish.
I have two questions:
Should I be worried if one breast is bigger/smaller than the other?
What is the best time to examine oneself?
Please guide me.
AnswerDear Tony, I would suggest that you see your GYN and have him/her do a breast exam on your and if they feel it is something to investigate further, they he/she should order an untrasound/sonogram on your right breast...
It is possible that this is a simply cyst, but it should be looked into further....
It is sometimes normal for a woman to have one brest larger than the other, but it is also something that needs more examination too....
As to the best time of the month to do a self-breast exam, this would be AFTER your monthly cycle, so pick a date that you are not on your cycle and make sure that you use the same date every month (mark it on a calander or something) so you can remember that date each month.... Some women prefer to do their exam in the shower or tub while bathing... They feel the soap makes it is easier to more their hands more firmly over your breasts.... Other do as suggested and do thier exam facing a mirror...
