Post-Mastectomy: Navigating Treatment & Addressing Health Concerns

I've recently had a mastectomy of the right breast with nearly all the lymph nodes removed and shows as cancerous.  I meet with an oncologist next week to discuss treatment.  My question is--I've suffered from migraines for years, but had them well under control without medication up until about 18 months ago when they came back with a vigor.  I had an MRI of the brain a year before the mastectomy which showed changes to the white matter of the brain indicative of MS, but no clinical reason to follow up with an MS study.  In addition, there was no tumor found.  I continue to have headaches (not always migraine type) daily.  Nearly always I go to bed fine and wake up in the middle of the night with a severe headache.  Should I be concerned that the cancer has indeed spread to the brain, and if it has not, how can I treat these symptoms while going through chemo?  (Perhaps my oncologist will be able to direct me?)

Under the circumstances I think a new MRI scan of your brain may be a good idea. I never interfere in matters regarding medication. That MUST be the responsibility of the dr. in charge of the case. So I suggest that you discuss that with your oncologist!
