Understanding a Breast Mammogram: What Does an Asymmetry Mean?

I just had my mammogram and my doctor's office called saying I had a 9mm assymetry in the left breast and want to do a diagnostic mammogram of that breast. Th physician's assistant wasn't too helpful and I'm worried. From what I read that means I may be of increased risk.

Any irregular finding may mean an increased risk. In your case what is seen just means that there is some side difference. It may not mean anything sinister at all. Have the check up done and then we will know more. Too early to tell now! Please do keep me posted!
