I'm just kind of worried because I'm not bleeding but I'm having bad cramps. Will I start bleeding soon. Should I just sleep with a pad on so if I do wake up tomorrow or I probly should worry about it thank you sorry for this long question I'm just confused because I'm not bleeding but I have bad cramps
ANSWER: Hello, elizabeth,
The light brown discharge may be blood. You should definitely sleep with a pad. I don't know if you'll get this before you go to bed.
The cramps are not surprising. What you need to watch for is the possibility that they injured you. Unfortunately, if you take any medication to ease the cramps, it may aggravate bleeding if it starts. The cramps could also be the uterus trying to stop any bleeding, and return to pre-pregnant size. Please see a good doctor about the cramps. Don't go back to the people who did the abortion.
Don't worry about asking me long questions. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Let me know how you do. Take care.

QUESTION: thank you so much for answering my question. so what your saying is that they messed up how is this i went to a place in Rockford thats supposed to be the best so im kinda of confused
AnswerHi, elizabeth,
You're very welcome.
A lot of this depends on how you define some things. Abortion is actually unethical. It is contrary to medical ethics. It should only be done when there is a serious threat to the mother's life or physical health, but if the baby can be saved, he should be given a chance. It's safer for the mother than an outright abortion. The number of different things that can go wrong is mind-boggling. From where I sit, abortion harms each and every woman who has one. The nature of the harm is just the details. More than 1/3 of women who get a surgical abortion suffer permanent damage to their reproductive systems. And that's not counting the breast cancer risk. If a woman aborts her first pregnancy, the risk of getting a virulent form of breast cancer skyrockets. If she's got breast cancer in her immediate family, it's a virtual certainty, according to a study done by a female doctor who favors legal abortion. I have talked to hundreds of women, and I have yet to meet one who didn't suffer emotional repercussions. We don't even know what the long term consequences of pill abortions are.
The only abortion facility in Rockford is the Northern Illinois Women's Center. I have some documented details on that facility, but you will have to ask a question privately for me to let you know about it. To summarize, if I knew what I happen to know about this facility, I would not entrust my life to them. No way! Their affiliation with the National Abortion Federation isn't any help, because their standards are woefully inadequate. Their web site also indicates that they don't offer any alternatives to abortion, so right there, the counseling is very poor. Please understand, the horrible record of legal abortion is being covered up by a lot of people, so finding out whether or not a given facility or abortionist can be trusted is very difficult. The fact is, if a person is willing to ignore medical ethics with respect to abortion, he really can't be trusted to keep a woman safe.
As far as surgical abortions are concerned, it is the practice of most abortionists to do the abortion in about five minutes. Obviously, if it is a late term abortion, it will take longer. But please understand: they have to scrape the uterus with a sharp knife and cut away the placenta. Although some facilities use ultrasound, most abortionists operate blind. The uterus consists of very soft tissue. Even with an ultrasound, they may not be able to avoid injury. So even under the best of circumstances, the risk of injury is high. If the woman is further along, an additional danger is injury from sharp bones that have been broken in the process. You would think of this kind of injury had occurred, you would be bleeding, so that is somewhat puzzling. Still, you need to be checked out. Most women I talk to don't speak of painful cramps after a surgical abortion, although after a pill abortion, they're common. In fact, pill abortions can cause cramps so severe they can rupture a woman's uterus.
OK, so the important question at this point is, where do you go from here? I urge you to see a doctor and have him check you thoroughly for injury. We don't KNOW that you were acutely injured from your abortion, but it needs to be ruled out. Other risks I have listed are always a concern. At least if you go to a decent doctor, and he says you didn't suffer an acute injury, you can accept that and go on from there.
Please let me know what you find out. I'll pray for you.
