Light Periods on Yaz: Is This Normal?

Question
I've been on Yaz birth control now for about 6-7 months, and I just wanted to know if what I am experiencing is normal.  Ever since starting Yaz my periods have been much lighter and shorter, almost like a bit heavier than spotting.  But this month they're really light.  I spotted a couple days before I was supposed to start ( I've spotted before too, its not just this month) and I took my first white pill tonight.  My period is so light that I just use a panty liner. Although at some times during the day it is heavier ( like this morning I had to wear a tampon  because I had a bit of a flow)  But right now its only a bit of spotting or just when I wipe.  I never miss a pill and take the at the exact time every day.  The only thing that could have interfered with my pills this month would be an antibiotic that i took but even the doctor said that it wasn't known to interfere with yaz, and I still used a condom when I was sexually active.  I know Im not pregnant because I really dont have any symptoms of it, Im just a highly paranoid person aha  I also am experience my normal period symptoms such as cramping and stuff.  But is it normal to have such light periods?
Thanks!

Answer
It is normal to have such light periods.  Most women get lighter periods when they take the pill, and sometimes they get so light that they hardly come at all (or don't come at all).  If you'd like to have more of a period, you could ask your doctor to switch you to a different pill.  However, many women prefer the light or no periods they get from the pill.
