Birth Control & Diet Pills: Potential Interactions & Postpartum Concerns

Hi Dianna, I just gave birth to my beautiful daughter 2 months ago and stopped nursing 1 week ago. My OB took me off of Micronor and I began taking Estrostep FE. I am trying to lose my baby weight and also starting to take Hydroxycut, an ephedra free diet pill.The warning on my BC pills says to discuss w/ my pharmacist if I am taking any "herbal medications". Can the Hydroxycut impact the effectiveness of my birth control? And will taking either of these make it harder to concieve the next time? Thank you so much in advance!

You need to talk with your doctor about the interactions between this herbal suppliment and the pill. To tell you the truth, most herbal medications for weight loss don't work. Exercise and a good diet do!
I don't know if the weight loss drug will make it harder to concieve later. Talk to your doctor.
