Birth Control and Potential Pregnancy After Initial Use - What to Do?
QuestionHi. I started taking birth control and it was a week after I had been on it. Me and my patner had an accident where he went inside of me. This was after only a week after being on the pill. It is now a week after the incident happened where he had went inside of me. I have kept taking the pill since the incident. I was just curious to if i could be pregnat. Or if i should stop taking the pill incase im pregnat. I dont want to keep taking it if i am pregnat and hurt the baby. Also if i get a pregnancy test from the store will the birth control make it an automatic yes. Or will the birth control have any effect on the results of the test. Thank you for your time.
AnswerHello Katherine,
I'm not a medical doctor so I always suggest that you check with your physician about health matters. However, in my opinion, you should get a pregnancy test, because it probably would be harmful to the baby if you are pregnant and keep taking the pills. The birth control should not affect the test. Go to http://www.optionline.org to find a free pregnancy center in your area. Or just email me with that info (where you live) and I'll find one for you.
