Post-Depo & Birth Control: Understanding Period Changes & Pregnancy Concerns
Questionhi! I am 25 and I think maybe my biological clock is starting to tick!! I was on the depo shot for almost six years, then went off for two months, and have been on the pill now for about a year. Last month I got a "pregnancy feeling" sounds crazy, I know! But my period came two days late, which never happens, and I felt kinda sick for about two days. Took a hpt the day before I started my period and got a negative. Once my period started, I didnt think much of it. I started my new pack of pills on the following sunday, forgot to take the following Saturday..then took two late on Sunday. VERY sore nipples Monday morning. Couldnt even let fiance touch them, soooo sore. I decided not to take my pill Monday in case of pregnancy..havent taken since (its now the following Monday) And still have very sore nipples and very visible montgomery glands on both nipples...my question is..can these be hormonal because I havent taken the pill? It seems odd to me that my nipples would become so sore after only forgeting one pill. I never had any of these symptoms after depo and have never had tender breast while pmsing. I woke up today with milky discharge that has no strange odor...but another neg. test this afternoon...my period is not due for almost a week..is it possible to know I am pregnant so soon or am I just making going off the pill symptoms into pregnancy symptoms? lol...
AnswerHi Shiree,
Thanks for your question and just for the record, I'm not a medical professional. I believe in "pregnancy feelings" so don't feel crazy. It is possible to have a negative pregnancy test even though you are actually pregnant. I would recommend not taking the pill any more until you do definitely find out if you are pregnant. It is dangerous to your baby if you are taking the pill while pregnant. It is odd what you are saying but I have seen so many weird things happen. I really can't diagnose your symptoms so I would suggest you go to your personal physician or check out this site. http://www.optionline.org
That is a website that lists pregnancy testing centers that are free. See if there is one near you and call them and ask everything. I would love to also hear from you by email at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
