Late Period After Birth Control Pill Changes: Possible Causes & What to Do
Question"Hi mam. Umm i have been taking orthrotricyclen lo for 3 months now. but yesterday (sunday) i started regular orthotricyclen. about 2-3 weeks ago, i missed 2 pills, then i would take them. and i did that for about 3-4 days. well i was supposed to start my peroid 3 days ago and havent yet. i took 4 pregnancy tests but they came out negative. Any answers on why im not starting? is it possible for my peroid to be late because i took the pills late? And if i am pregnant, would it show up on a test no matter what?"
AnswerHi Devan,
Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please check with your own physician. If you don't take the pills consistently and at the proper time, you could become pregnant if you are sexually active. You can even get pregnant with taking the pills 100% correctly because no form of birth control except abstinence is totally pregnancy-free. Also, if you are not far enough along, the pregnancy test could come back negative. I would recommend you calling 1-800-395-HELP or go online to http://www.optionline.org and ask them where you can get a free test and when. Also, please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and tell me what happens.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
