Depo Shot & Pregnancy Symptoms: What Could This Be?

Question
I'm on the Depo shot. Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex and he ejaculated inside of me and lately I've been having very bad abdominal cramping with slight tender breasts, and VERY little spotting of a light pinkish/brown. I bought a pregnancy test and it came back negative, then the next day the abdominal cramping hadn't stopped so I went to the clinic and told the nurse my symptoms and she gave me a urine pregnancy test which also came back negative, she gave me a pelvic exam and felt my ovaries, my right ovary was a little tender so she said I may have a tiny cyst on my ovaries, she also said that I was dehydrated. I'm really confused because these are all pregnancy symptoms but I know it's very unlikely to get pregnant on Depo Shot.. could I be pregnant? would a blood test be more accurate?

Answer
Kayla,
Yes a blood test would be slightly more accurate, but if you have had all these urine tests come back negative and been examined, then I would say you are not pregnant. Pregnancy symptoms are very similar to pre period symptoms as well. If you still feel like you are pregnant, you can go see an OB doctor. You should see one anyway just to get checked out if they think you might have a cyst. Good luck!
