Birth Control & Relationship Concerns: Seeking Advice
Questionive been with my bf for 7 months already. and we have had sex but hes been using condoms and he asked me why dont i take birth control pills that way everytime we do it he dont use that! but i dont know if i should or shouldnt. is it better having sex with out protection or what are the odds on getting pregnant with or without taking pills?? also i dont know if i should mention it to my mom about it i dont know how she going to react or what!! some of my friends take pills and they say its better but i still kind of have my doubts!! so can you please try to help me out!!

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please consult your physician. If you could tell me how old you are, I can also be more informed about your situation. Condoms are not 100% effective to keep you from getting pregnant. No kind of birth control is, even pills. The only guarantee to not get pregnant is to practice abstinence. Lots of young women are doing that now and I think it's the best way to go.
