Nortrel Side Effects & Post-Pill Weight Gain: A Personal Experience
QuestionI have bad PMS and so my doctor told me to try Nortrel 1/35(though I'm not sexually active). I've taken birth control in the past, but once I went off it the first time I lost weight and have kept it off for years. Well, I took Nortrel from Oct. 1st-Feb. 1st. Though my mood improved incredibly, I gained 30 pounds and felt bloated all the time (despite working out and eating well). Since stopping it, I have not resumed my periods yet. And I've gained 5 more pounds! My mood is being regulated naturally now b/c I am taking oat straw as an herbal infusion which has calcium and magnesium. I apreciate your feedback. Thank you.
AnswerHello Christina,
I don't agree with taking birth control pills for regulating a woman's period or for helping with acne. I do not believe that hormonal birth control is healthy for a woman's body. However, I am not a medical doctor so I always advise to consult your own physician. Yes, I do believe that birth control pills can make you gain weight and there are other side effects as well. I'm not sure about the herbal infusion or oat straw. I have not researched these methods. I feel that your period/cycles should regulate and hopefully you will be able to lose the weight. Feel free to email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com anytime to talk more.
Sincerely,
