Restarting Your Birth Control Pill: What to Expect

Hi - I have been on the pill since I was 16, and am now 22. I recently went off it to give my body a break. I am now ready to go back on it and have been given melodene. I was told to start the 'silver' pills on the first day of my menstral cycle, but my question is: what will happen if I start the pill now, ie before my cycle?

What did you do for birth control when you took your break? I don't advise hormonal birth control so in my opinion, it would be more healthy to not go back on at all. Why do you want to take your first pill now instead of waiting for the time instructed? It is best to go with the instructions that you received if you do go back on the pill. Let me know what is happening. I think if you don't take the pills that way you are supposed to, it would cause your cycle to be abnormal. Just my opinion.
