Irregular Periods After Birth Control: What Could It Mean?

Question
Hey. I'm 18 years old. I started my pill for almost two years now. I knew i would be getting spotting with my periods and it didn't worry me. But then my periods started becoming shorter and browner. Then they started coming late and later. I only had one heavy one over that time frame and haven't gotten it over a year. I did though yesterday got a SMALL potting of one and it doesn't need anything its so soft. What could this mean? Thanks a lot for you help. it means a lot. oh and i also gained quite a bit of weight since starting the pill to.

Answer
Some women stop having periods while on the pill.  It's just like most women get lighter periods on the pill, and sometimes they get so light that they don't come at all.  When this happens, sometimes there will be bleeding at other times.  It's not harmful not having periods on the pill, and some women prefer it.  The pill is still protecting you.  I hope that's helpful.
