Implanon Removal & Fertility: What to Expect After Removal

Question
I had my implanon contraceptive implant removed on the 22nd of last
month, I had a period just the week before (14th-18th). I have heard
mixed views on how long it takes to concieve after having it removed and
am just wondering if it is possible that I have already- I have been feeling
very lethargic, always feel like I need to pee, my stomach aches but not
like normal pms (am due this week) and have had very (sorry to be
graphic) mucousy pinky brown discharge the last couple of days. I thought
it was my period a bit early but no show so far... Just wondering if it is just
side effects of contraceptive removal or if I could be pregnant (I'm 24 and
in a secure relationship) or if it's something else!! Would be greatful of any
help!

Answer
Most women ovulate within the first month after Implanon removal, so pregnancy is a possibility.  On the other hand, your ovaries are starting to work after the Implanon removal, and the way you're feeling could be from your increasing estrogen hormone level.  A pregnancy test is usually positive by the time a woman feels pregnancy symptoms, so I'd do a pregnancy test (first morning urine).  If it's negative, I don't think you're pregnant.  If it's positive, congratulations.
