STDs During Pregnancy: Risks, Management & Safe Childbirth

I have had genital herpes for 6 years and HPV for 1 year, I just recently got married and I am worried about getting pregnant. I don't know how my std's will affect pregnancy and child birth. My husband is curious about it as well. How will this affect pregnancy and child birth? What can I tell my husband to help calm him?

just make sure you are treated for flare ups and that we advise you to have a c/section to prevent the baby from getting it. If it is well controlled and you are very careful and keeping your appts and taking any meds, the baby should be fine. Now see your ob and follow his advise and ask him the same questions as each area of the country does different things concerning this.
