Post-Abortion Period Irregularity: Causes & What to Expect

Can you please tell me what can I do. I had and abortion 2 months ago and still no period. I was only 7 weeks when I had the abortion and before then my periods were every 22 days. I have since had 2 ultrasounds and 2 negative pregnancy test results.I am worry I might cant have children in the future. Are there any pills I can take to bring my period down? Thanks for All you help.

Dear Dee,
This is fairly common after an abortion.  You should get your periods back regularly.  The most common reason is changes in your hormones.  The next common reason is a new pregnancy, but you have ruled that out with the pregnancy tests. I would wait another month, and then if you still don't get your period set up an appointment with a gyn doctor.  They will try prescribing pills.  
There is a lot of fear that abortion causes infertility.  This fear is promoted by people who are trying to scare women from having an abortion.  It is an extremely rare complication- and even more rare with such an early pregnancy like yours.
