Post-Abortion Bleeding & Odor: What to Expect

Hi i have some concerns on what i am experiencing.
I had an abortion at 6 months and had an induction on january 12 2012.
It is now February 19,2012 and i still have some bleeding, i was wondering is that normal and when iwould get my period. The bleeding comes and go throughout the day and there would be times where i would stop bleeding but it would come back some hours later. I also been having a horrible odor for about more than a week. I sprayed some spray on me to make the smell go away but after 4 hours later, i would smel it again. When i would bleed the color would turn brown and that is normal but today the color turned black and it realy scared me. Is that normal? I hvent had any sexual intercourse or used any tampons since my abortion. I also have not used any creams or put any where chemicals in it.

It sounds like you may have bacterial vaginosis which is very common.  It is treated with metronidazole.  The bleeding changes the flora inside the vagina.  Call your doctor.  The bleeding pattern can be noral after a second trimester abortion. Please do not be alarmed.  Just call your doctor.
