Essential Client Screening Questions for Holistic Therapists

Hi Michael

I am starting a mobile Holistic practice in my local area,(Lincolnshire, UK) and would like some advice (in all areas actually!) but mostly about general questions I will need to ask clients about health, any contra indications, problems I can't work on, etc.  I will be practicing Reiki and aromathrapy massage - at first.  Is there anything you could suggest?

Thanks for your question, Tena.

Before I start any massage/reiki session, I not only have the client complete an informal Intake (medical history questionnaire) form, but also ask the following questions:

Do you have any history of any serious heart problems, cancer or Diabetes?
Do you take any prescription drugs?
Do you have any open sores or any abnormal skin conditions?
Have you had any recent surgeries?
Do you have any medically-diagnozed Varicose veins in your legs?
Do you have any other conditions which I have not asked about?

That covers it and hopefully answers your question.
