Combining Chiropractic & Massage: Is It Safe & Effective?

Question
You mentioned that you shouldn't get chiro and massage on the same day. I went to a chiro who had a masseuse do 15 min. before or after the chiro session and said it helped relax muscles around my spine for my manipulations. and muscle memory is that the muscles around the spine that used to being tight then pulls spine back out of alignment easier as well.I'm just stressed out because of what got me to the chiro in the first place, so massage feels great. what do you think? should I go in on one day just for that massage then two days later for chiro?

Answer
Hi Lola,

I don't agree with doing massage and chiro on the same day because when you get a massage the muscles are flushed and fresh blood and oxygen are moved into the area. The body needs some time to heal after receiving a massage. Some people prefer to do them on the same day, but personally I prefer to tell clients they can do it one day after the other. But its totally up to you.
