Massage and Allergies: Addressing Client Concerns & Oil Sensitivities
QuestionOne of my clients is allergic to grass and take medication for it. After the massage sessions he complains of itching eyes and feeling "weird". I sometimes use safflower oil as a base for the oil I use, could that irritate his allergies? Also, how deep should the massage be for people with allergies?
AnswerI'm not sure what you mean by "feeling weird" because I don't know the signs and symptoms. Deep massage won't hurt your client at all. Try using something like an unscented baby oil or coconut oil. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
