Shingles and Client Safety: Guidance for Massage Therapists
QuestionI am a massage therapist and have shingles for the past five days, no itching or puss, blisters are receding. is it safe for me to treat clients at this stage? can i pass this onto my clients?
AnswerKev,
I hope you feel better soon!
It is safest to let a doctor decide that you are no longer contagious because you certainly can spread the condition to clients or others who come in close skin contact with you until the blisters have completely healed. Better safe than sorry!
Best Wishes!
