QuestionI've worn acrylics for years and periodically try pink and whites because I love them. My problem is this: no matter who the nail tech has been I always have lines all the way down my nail bed that are quite visible when I have pink and whites. I don't hink it's my tech because she does p&w on lots of people I know and I'm the only one that has this problem. It's true that my natural nails are very thin... Is there a way to resolve this, prevent it or to cover it with a sheer natural color of some type? I just had them done and for now I'd be happy if I could just cover with something so it's not so obvious. But, not with an opaque color because my tips are a dark copper right now. Please help!! I'm desperate!!
AnswerDear Tami,
There is absolutely NO REASON at all for their to be 'drill lines' on your natural nails. It IS your technician's fault. An electric file should NEVER EVER touch the natural nail, it is only meant to touch the product. Also, those 'red lines' can also be caused by overfiling using a regular hand file, if the technician is not properly trained and 'over-filing'.
If you check other salons in your area, seek out one that does "Custom Blended" manicures. These are where the technician makes a custom blend powder to match your natural nail bed's colour (the pink) and you can have a P&W french without drill lines.
Once the damage on your nail has grown out, you can switch to clear acrylic.
Please see this page on my site for more information on h ow to avoid poor quality technicians.
