QuestionHi, I have recently had acrylic nails. They always seemed to lift so it became very expensive. The salon offers Lacquer, gel, and silk wrap also. Can you tell me the difference between all of the other? Also is one or the other better for your natural nails?
Thanks
AnswerHi Pat.
Gel can be applied as an overlay on your natural nails or on top of tips for length. It is a gel consistancy and cured to your nail using a uv light. It is thin flexible and super shiny. It comes in color, clear, or french.the color is great for a more durable polish finish.
Silk wraps are exactly the same but tiny pieces of silk glued to your nail or on top of tips. They add strength. They are great if you do not change your polish a lot. When you change polish the material will come off. You can wear opaque polish but with sheer sometimes you can see the weave of the fabric.
I am not sure what laquer is?? it could be a slang term for another type??
If you just want strength opt for the silk if you want something more durable go with gel.
Thanks
Good Luck
