LCN Gel Maintenance: Troubleshooting Seamless Refills
QuestionHi Megan,
I took a LCN class to learn how to do the LCN gels. It has been a month since I took the class. I have put 3 full sets on 3 different people now that it is time for the maintance part of it the refill, I am having a hard time with it.When I file down the enhancement to meet the new growth I feel like I am filling for ever and I seem not to be able to get a nice smooth seam free between the old and the new growth. You really can't notice it to much until you put the gel material on and cure it. Once I wipe the film off you can still see were the nail has grown out. It is the u shape that is formed as it grows out. I hope you understand what I am talking about. Can you help me figure out why you can still see this?
Thank you
AnswerYes, The fill is sort of tricky! If there is any lifting at all you should just completely take the gel off and create a new nail so its fresh and clean, If it is just re-growth, YOu should be using a Zebra File corse 150/150 and it should easily come off! I put forth very little effort and the entire gel can be filed away! So I think it may be your file. You can even go the extra mile and buff the nail smooth after you file.
Just make sure your Gels are THIN! They are not made to be thick! Make them very thin and natural and when you file them down it should blend with the natural nail. Hold it up to your light make sure it looks perfect then you put your bonder on!
You will never see a fill line agian!:)
Good luck
Megan
