Broken Natural Nail Under Acrylic: Repair Options & Advice

I am a bowler and my finger got stuck in the bowl and my natural nail bed snapped at the back of the nail with acrylic nail on top.  I thought I should glue the nail back together then have new acrylic over the entire top of the nail.  What do you think?  The nail is attached and only cracked across the back.

Hi Nancy,

without seeing the nail it is hard to tell you what is the proper way to handle this.
If your natural nail has minimal damage meaning just the break in the center by all means glue it.
If your natural nail is lifted or seriously damaged cut it down as short as you can and put a bandage on during the day and let it breathe at night,till it grows out.
