DIY Gel Nail Fills: Save Money & Maintain Your Manicure

I'm thinking about getting some gel nails soon and I realized that other than paying for the nails just one time, i have to continue going back every 2-3 weeks for a fill-in that costs 15-20 dollars! Since I am still in school and have no source of income, I was wondering if I can do SAFE and EFFECTIVE fill-ins myself. Doing this kind of paying as a routine really won't work for me. I am getting nails no matter what, but I was just wondering if there is any way I can fill-in my nails on my own. You know, buy a kit or something.

Honestly I am not a fan of recommending doing a fill yourself. You can buy one and try but there is a reason why nail techs need to go to school and get a license to do nails. You could in your attempt to be thrifty cause more problems and or ruin your full set only to have to take the set off or go to a salon anyway to get them fixed. Plus the salon uses a certian brand and you buy a different one this could not adhere to the what is already on your nail or wear differently.

15-20 for a fill is pretty cheap to be honest. Plus that is about near cost of a kit.
