QuestionQUESTION: Hi I'm hoping you can help me I'm new to doing my nails at home, I use acrylic but my problems are the following if I can ask,
firstly the primer will not dry,is it a bad product or am i using too much? Ive tried putting it on really thinly and it still wont dry and it says put on a second coat so i havent got to the second coat yet
secondly the nails wont stick i use brush on glue what am i doing wrong is it the glue or something im doing or not doing?
and lastly can you tell me what is the difference between adhesive and resin?
Thanks in advance xx
ANSWER: Hi thanks for your question, I will do my very best to make my answers as clear as possible.
Firstly, in regards to your primer, I'm not sure what brand you use but for most (if not all) you should only apply it as a very thin layer. Essentially, a primer is a nail plate dehydrator so it really should not remain wet but if yours simply does not dry completely, then perhaps this is how your brand designed their product.
As for nails not sticking correctly, this is a common problem faced by rookie nail techs, it is just a question of trying different tips to find the ones that work for you and adjusting the tip when required to get a snug fit. Perhaps looking at a different brand of tip may help. I have also found the French cut tips much easier for adhesion over the half well tips, so perhaps you can use those while you get yourself settled.
Finally adhesive and resin while terminology can differ greatly amongst countries. I have always found that resin and adhesive being the same thing, just different terms.
Hope this helps, anything else you need, just ask.

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick reply, looking at your reply about primer being a dehydrator can i just use a natural nail dehydrator or should I use a primer as I have both?
AnswerWell really you can use either, but As a general rule it is best to use the method that your particular brand suggests, as this is the best method when using each manufacturer. But given the issues youve encountered you could also do some experimentation to see if one way works better over another. So why not try the dehydrator although I would refrain from using both (unless told to by manufacturers instructions)
Hope this helps
