QuestionHELLO LINDA
How are you?
Hope you can give me some ideas. 5 weeks ago, i got a burn by cigarette ash on my cheek, it is completely healed in one week, but it leave a burn mark, the size is about a little figure, and the color is bit red/darker than other skin around my face.it really depressed me in these 5 weeks,do even want to go out for dates until the burn mark fade away. but i know it takes time, and i am afraid to use foundation on it. Currently i am using bio-oil.so my questions are:
1. can i use foundation to cover it? the things i worry is the foundation will clog the pore, then make the burn mark worse or slow down the burn mark to fade away(i got chanel pro lumiere founfation and clinique makeup primier, is it ok i use these two)
2. is the bio-oil good for my burn mark to fade away, or what other products i can use for it? many thanks
AnswerHello Jackie~
Vitamin E oil or the the product 'Mederma' (a gel) has been known to help a burn scar fade. Apply either a couple times a day. (in the a.m. and before bedtime) Or you may opt to use Mederma (you can find it at any drugstore) in the morning and Vitamin E oil at night. The Mederma being a gel-type product will be easier to apply makeup over than Vitamin E oil.
As long as there is no open sore and the burn is completely healed on the surface, you shouldn't risk any infection using a good concealor followed by a good foundation. Look for makeup brands that are non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging)---most brands are non-comedogenic.
I am not familiar with bio-oil.
Best of luck, Jackie.
