QuestionHello, my name is Katie and I'm 14 years old. My face was always oily so I would use oil free moisturizers. I've never had any big problems with my face, for example acne. But I do occasionally get a pimple or two on my nose. I've seen a doctor about it and she gave me a cream called clindoxyl gel. That worked wonders on my nose, but not so much on my forehead. I play sports therefor i sweat alot. I have pimples (not noticeable, almost inside of my skin) on my forehead and was wondering if you know any home remedies to get rid of them (besides toothpaste)or anything i can get at a local drug store for example the product itchy.
I also want to ask about dry skin. As I told you, I have oily skin but lately (a few days ago) my skin has gotten extremely dry around my nose especially. Would you now what could have caused it, and can you suggest anything that will work for it?
I also have a question about makeup. (Sorry my question is so long lol) I have a square shaped face and chubby cheeks as well (I'm petite, just have hubby cheeks) and I want someone to explain to me how i can contour my face to look slimmer and more oval. I have bronzer to do so, but i don't wear foundation. And I have brown eyes and was wondering if you could suggest ways to apply eyeliner, eye shadow to make my eyes look nice.
thanks!
AnswerHi Katie,
You have great questions and I'd like to help you. It's ok about the length of your email :)
As I tell all my clients, I need to ask a few questions to further understand your skin conditions.
- Do you drink up to 8- 10 glasses of water daily? ( this flushes out all the bad stuff )
- What is your diet comprised of? lots of vegetables, fruits? salt intake? sugar?
- Are you under any type of stress? ( I hope not )
- Do you take a multivitamin daily?
About your makeup question, to contour any part of your face, use a darker color.
Light colors opens up an area - darker colors darken :) Use a good blush brush for your makeup application. Smile when applying blush on your cheeks and in a circular motion apply your blush accenting it with a touch of a shimmery color. Also, sweep blush straight across under your chin. This will help make the frame of your face more oval. Apply the bronzer after your blush for a healthy look. Apply it in places where you see light with light strokes.
I remember the first time I used bronzer and applied it too heavy and it just looked wrong - it is all about experimenting :)
To apply eyeliner, line the top of your eyes with either brown or purple ( purple will make your brown eyes pop dramatically. lightly line the bottom of your eyes with a bit darker at the ends. Use a light shimmery color in the corner of your eyes to make them appear nice and bright :) sweep a highlighter to the eyebrow and you will have a nice look for an evening or special occasion.
Hope that helps and I look forward to your next reply to discuss your skin.
I'm happy to answer any other makeup questions
Take care
Elaine :)
