Wave Cutting Advice & Progress Update - Cleao's Tips
Questionwhat's good Cleao? first off i gotta say thanx. i followed ur advice, after using a good brand of pomade and brushing like there's no tomorrow i'd say in about 2 wks. i have a head full of waves. i still gotta connect the back to the sides but for the most part they're in there and everybody thinkin i used a wave kit or something but lil do they know. but my question is about me cutting my head. i asked you before but just asking again to make sure i don't mess up the wave process. my hair has grown and its time for a cut. i cut my own head and i've always cut against the grain to get that low even look that i like. my questions are is it really ok to cut against the grain and still keep my waves? and when i do get a full 360 going will i be able to stop brushing as much.... and still keep a head full of waves? thanx again folk!
AnswerWhat up Devon, you can cut against the grain a lot of people say no but if you have waves the you have waves if you still want them to stand out after your cut, then I would cut with a bigger guard up usually a 1 1/2 or 2 will do I would go with a 2 it will bring down the hair just a notch and keep it even once the waves are in good you can even cut it lower and still be able to see them they will be light but still there. Also once your waves are in good you only have to brush your hair once a day or only when you take your do-rag off. I don't know if it was you that I was telling but when I had my wave spinning like crazy I never brushed only when I got a hair cut and once before or after I took my do-rag off which was once a day just to get in the shower! So no you will not have to brush so hard thats only to get them in.
